A short story about us
We are the Holmes Family! My name is Jake, and I’m a mechanic from Washington Parish. I grew up in Louisiana and spent time on a farm in southeastern Minnesota, where hard work and determination became a core part of who I am.
After marrying my beautiful wife, Alainna, we moved to Alaska for a short time before returning to our hometown of Franklinton. As we settled back in, we noticed how much our community had changed over the years. Wanting to give back and make a difference, we looked for ways to contribute.
One major need stood out—affordable, high-speed internet. That’s when Alainna and I decided to launch Saga Broadband, which later became Saga Fiber, to bring reliable internet services to our community.

Who are we?
Why SAGA?
We saw a serious problem in our community—poor-quality internet at outrageously high prices. Big telecom companies were taking advantage of people, especially the elderly, overcharging them for unreliable service.
On top of that, we noticed that 90% of telecom providers—new and old—were hanging their services on power lines in a hurricane-prone state. That didn’t make much sense to us. Every storm meant outages, repairs, and more frustration for customers.
We wanted something faster, more reliable, and cutting-edge—the kind of service you’d expect in big cities. But why should only major metro areas have access to top-tier internet? There was no reason our community couldn’t have fast, affordable, and unlimited internet without data caps or streaming limitations.
So, we got to work.
With our determined mindset, strong work ethic, and a commitment to doing things the right way, we built our own network—out of pocket—to bring real change to our hometown.
